AHO-JDPS stands for A Homemade Japanese Document Processing System. Just coincidentally, aho means "foolish" in Japanese. And I have to admit I do feel a little bit foolish for having spent so much time on this project, but perhaps it will all turn out to have been worthwhile.

What you will find here is a set of data, instructions, and scripts designed to ease the challenging task of processing Japanese SGML documents. It uses Jade as a formatting engine, and JadeTeX to process TeX output. If you are unfamiliar with SGML, DSSSL, Jade, and JadeTeX, I strongly recommend you become familiar with them before attempting to work with this package. If all goes well, this will one day be very easy to use, but it's not there yet.
